Free Chapter: Is God Omniscient?
“God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.”
(1 John 3:20 NKJV)
God is not surprised or caught off guard by any occurrence—period—end of story. He doesn’t lose control over the rise or fall of anything or anyone, or any other power in the spiritual or natural realms of our universe, or even over the smallest detail of our lives. Regarding God’s infinite understanding, I once heard it said, “God sees the whole parade of creation from beginning to end, while we who are standing on the corner of First and Main see only one float at a time.”
Our omniscient Father is the author of creation’s magnificent drama and he’s done it with precision. There is nothing he does not foreknow or oversee to bring us into full maturity as the sons of God, for “we are the offspring of God” (Acts 17:29). He reigns over every detail of our lives with the infinite knowledge, awareness, and control of all things, everything, to bring us into the stature and fullness of Christ.
